Testimonials

“My husband was a tax protestor. He had a business and filed partnership returns but never filed a personal tax return as he felt that we were not liable. He passed away, and I was left with three children and a tax bill nearing $100,000 between federal and two states. I contacted Common Cents Tax Service. They filed returns for the years that I was required to file, and then they were able to negotiate down the debt to just $2,000. I’ve since been able to buy a house, and move on with my life.”

Sincerely,
Julie G.

“My husband and I were in despair. I was the primary care giver of my mom, and his mom had recently passed. We owned two small businesses, a rental property in another state, and had some other additional complications. Sometimes filing a tax return just doesn’t seem like the most urgent thing in life. The amount of paperwork, receipts, complicated tax instructions, and threatening IRS letters made the situation unbearable. We finally contacted Common Cents Tax Service. They were able to catch us up on the unfiled returns and the tax collectors at bay until we could get some breathing room. We’re currently trying to negotiate our tax bill down, and get this mess behind us.”

Sincerely,
Steve and Norma C

“I had a business in one state and apartment complexes in another state. I lost it all in the downturn economy. I had large unpaid tax bills from the business and rental income. I contacted Common Cents Tax Service and they made an offer to settle my tax bill for much less than what I owed. Initially, the IRS Holtsville, New York office rejected the settlement. I guess I got a hard nosed IRS agent. The agent also wanted unreasonable collateral agreements. Common Cents Tax Service was able to appeal the case to a different IRS employee and I got the settlement I deserved. Common Cents Tax Service saved me tens of thousands of dollars. They were also able to remove the tax lien that the IRS had put on me in the county where I had lived.”

“I ran a business for over twenty years. It was difficult to run the business and then take care of all of the paperwork as well. I got behind on my payroll taxes, as well as corporate income tax. After years of minimal profits, I decided to shut the business down. I had used a local CPA to help me prepare the payroll and corporate taxes. The folks at Common Cents Tax Service were able to review my tax return, and find a better way of treating certain expenses. They were able to amend my previously filed tax returns, and remove the corporate income tax liability. They were also able to help me with the payroll tax problem, using a few different strategies. They relieved a lot of stress from my life, and now I use them every year for personal income tax preparation.”

“I got a great job offer in another state. I temporarily rented my house out until I could find a buyer. I used a well known online software package to prepare my return. I was really scared when I got the IRS audit notice in the mail. I called Common Cents Tax Service, and one of their representatives was able to review my tax return, and found deductions that had been missed. The representative met with the IRS agent, and I was able to get a refund of over $800.”

Sincerely,

“I’ve used the folks at Common Cents Tax Service since the 1990s. They’ve been fantastic in preparing my returns. I had a problem with the IRS in 2009 that they were also able to help me resolve. Someone I did some work for gave me a 1099. For some reason, the IRS reporting system “hiccupped” and showed me earning this income twice. I also had a guy for whom I had done some work for in some previous years give me a 1099 even though I didn’t work for him in 2009. He went out of business and moved out of the area. Guess he wanted an extra write off at my expense. You would think these would be easy fixes, but things are rarely easy when dealing with the IRS. Common Cents Tax Service was able to talk to the IRS and get these issue resolved for me. These guys are great.”

“I was a roofer. I was treated as an independent contractor. My life was great until one day I fell off the ladder while carry shingles up to the roof. I hurt my back, and I was not able to work any more. I could not afford to pay my taxes. I owed the IRS and state thousands of dollars. I received threatening letters. Common Cents Tax Service was able to stop the collection letters and negotiate my tax bill down to only $50.”

Sincerely,
Anthony A.
